God of War Ragnarok PS5 Launch date postponed to 2022

God of War Ragnarok PS5

There is some sad news for the gamers as most of us are eagerly waiting for the upcoming sequel of one of the best Sony games “God of War” which was first introduced in 2005. The upcoming God of War Ragnarok PS5 which is set to initial launch later this year is now delayed. This means that now we have to wait for one more year which sure is a long time for the fans and gamers.

The postponement of the game was recently confirmed by the God of War game developers Santa Monica Studio through a tweet on their official account. The reason given by them for the delay is because of the ongoing pandemic due to which the game isn’t yet ready for the launch. They also indirectly said that the studio can’t take chance for the health of their crew and team which is more important than the launch.

The news was also confirmed by the Sony PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst through an interview posted on the PlayStation Blog. In his interview, Hulst stated that “For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.” Moreover, he added “And for God of War, the project started a little later. So we’ve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.”

Monica studios also indicated that the upcoming God of War Ragnarok PS5 launch is going to be one of the greatest events and the game will be the masterpiece. This is the one great news for the fans as the better the game is the more it took time for launch, which surely indicates that Ragnarok is going to be one of the greatest games of all time.

We all know God of War is one of the flagship franchises of the Sony gaming studios, and the more time developers spend on fining the game and solving the bugs and glitches the more game will become better. So we just have to wait until the developers officially confirm the launch date of the game.

The original initial date of launching the game is set to be later in 2021 and is said to be one of the five PlayStation exclusive games of the year. The decision for the launch was changed as now it is suggested that the next God of War title will be a cross-generation game which means the game will be available for both the latest Sony PS consoles i.e. Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

And for the development of the game for both the consoles it may take some time and the wait will definitely pay off. The other big release which is set by the Sony Studios to release this year is the Horizon Forbidden West which will release this year as planned on the holiday seasons. But on the other hand for the God of War as the project was started a little late than the Horizon so it will take some time to release as the result God of War Ragnarok PS5 Launch date moved to the next year.
