Huawei’s HarmonyOS 2.0 challenge Android to be featured in Smartphones by 2021

An Announcement from Huawei Consumer Business CEO ‘Richard Yu’ had been made yesterday at Huawei’s developer conference in Shenzhen, China about its Second version of its very own Smartphone operating System named ‘HarmonyOS’. HarmonyOS 2.0 has been announced by the company on 10 September 2020. Huawei declared that its new version HarmonyOS 2.0 will be featured in Smartphones from the next year 2021.

HarmonyOS 2.0

On Thursday, Huawei gave its response to this tech war: open up to worldwide developers and build the third-largest mobile ecosystem, after Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.

The company has announced a BETA version of Harmony 2.0 SDK available from yesterday but it’ll work only in smartwatches, car head units, and TVs. SDK version for Smartphone will be launched later said by Richard Yu most probably in December 2020.

Huawei claimed that this version of Harmony Operating system will be available on most of the smartphones from next year in 2021. The company also claimed that this operating system will be much better and faster than Android which is presently running on most of the smartphones. Huawei is also kicking off its OpenHarmony project, which allows developers to build upon an open-source version of the OS — similar to what AOSP is to Android.

One of the main reason which makes this project important for Huawei is to compete with America. Chinese companies get regular Ban from America which leads to a great loss for companies of China and Huawei is one of the leading Smartphone producing company of China. Huawei wanted that Smartphones will not work only on the Android operating system they wanted to launch its own operating system which features in most of the upcoming Smartphones and challenge Android OS.

US Bans Huawei to use America’s own Android to be featured in Huawei Smartphones. This leads the company to create its own Operating system which will feature in their smartphones even the company claimed that this operating system will be much faster and better and will be featured in most of the smartphones from next year.

Is HarmonyOS 2.0 better than Android?

The OS which has been developed by Huawei is not a competitor for Android but a Step Ahead in features and Technology. Huawei clearly said that they don’t want to stop working with android, but if the US forced it to stop using its OS then it can roll out its operating system in a day or two.

This Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 is much faster and efficient than Android OS as it uses distributed data management and task scheduling which make it more efficient in performance than Android. Even there is no Root Access needed like Android in Huawei’s new HarmonyOS 2.0.

In the last but not least security provided by Huawei: Huawei has deployed a formal verification method, and restricted access to root, and may have strengthened the security more But if one But due to this unified and smooth harmony, if one got access to one device… will also get smooth access to every connected device. This is a reason to be worried about but I think Huawei will Handle it and fix it before the official launch.
