Soon in the first quarter of the next year, history will be going to be created by Elon Musk’s commercial rocket company SpaceX by launching “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon”. This means from the first quarter of the next year SpaceX will accept meme-inspired cryptocurrency DogeCoin as payment.

SpaceX will soon launch a satellite to the moon named after the cryptocurrency DogeCoin, Doge-1 is a CubeSat meant to acquire “lunar-spatial intelligence” using onboard cameras and sensors. Sattelite Doge-1 is said to be paid and sent by the company named Geometric Energy Corporation, moreover, the satellite is said to be flown up on SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in the first quarter of 2022.

SpaceX Vice President of Commercial Sales Tom Ochinero said the following quote in a statement released by Geometric Energy “We’re excited to launch DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon!”. He, therefore, added in his statement “This mission will demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency beyond Earth orbit and set the foundation for interplanetary commerce”.

On his official Twitter account Musk tweeted that his company SpaceX will soon put a “literal Dogecoin on the literal moon”. On this Sunday Dogecoin lost almost a third of its price after Musk called it a ‘hustle’ during his guest-host spot on the “Saturday Night Live” comedy sketch TV show.

Before this Elon Musk Electric car company, Tesla Inc. said in February that they bought 1.5 billion worth of Bitcoins and will now accept Bitcoins as the method of payment. After this announcement, the price of the Bitcoins hype and break all records with pricing nearly $62,000.
