Domestic girlfriend also known as Domestic Na Kanojo is a popular anime among anime watchers that has been released back in the year 2019. The first season of the series was aired in January 2019 with 12 episodes of about 20 minutes each.
The main plot of the series revolves around the love triangle of a professor, her sister, and his student. The main character is Natsuo Fujii who is a secondary school student who falls in love with his teacher Hina.
But after falling in love with Hina, Natsuo meets with another young girl named Rui Tachibana who entices him into engaging in sexual activity with her. Well, the situation for Natsuo becomes more complicated when he got to know that Rui is the younger sister of her teacher Hina who he also loves.
The story gets more complicated with time as Natsuo finds out that both Hina and Rui are the daughter of the woman that his father loves and soon asks for the marriage. In the last episode, we got to see that Hina blames herself for what happened with Natsuo and disappears with a letter left behind for the man she loves.
On the other hand, Natsuo who hasn’t been recovered from the shock of Hina leaving him has authored a book describing himself. And in the future, he becomes a successful author and win an award for his book and also move forward from the feelings for her beloved Hina.
Is there Enough Source Material for Domestic Girlfriend Season 2?
Well, before discussing the release date of the next season the main question that lies for us is if there’s enough source material for the second season? As source material is the main point of creating the sequel of any series if there is a lack of source material then that means creators can’t create and release the sequel.
So let’s see if we have enough of that or not. With eight volumes covered for the first season with 12 episodes then that means we must look for at least 7-8 remaining volumes. As for that, we have good news for you, the manga of the series has a total of twenty-eight volumes and with the exclusion of the eight volumes that have been used for the first season.
That means now we are left with 20+Extra volumes so there is more than enough source material for creators to animate and release the Domestic Girlfriend season 2. Not only for season 2 animators can also release season 3 of the series with the remaining source material they have in hand.
But this is all up to the studio if they are interested in animating season 2 of the series or not as there is no official update on the matter till now so we just have to wait for some official confirmation.
