Nvidia GeForce GT 1010, New Pascal Based Entry Range GPU by Nvidia

Finally, Nvidia is back with its new Pascal-based GPU “Nvidia GeForce GT 1010”. Recently Nvidia announced to launch its new 30 series GPUs including RTX 3050 and 3080 Ti, but according to the new leak, it is confirmed that the new Pascal-based GPU is also coming to the market.

Recently in CES 2021, Nvidia announced the new RTX 30 mobiles for notebooks, and moreover, its partners also confirmed the launch of RTX 3060 which will complete the range of RTX 30 series for desktop users. So there is nothing special for Nvidia to launch its new Pascal-based GPU also soon. Nvidia is one of the best graphics card manufacturing company to date, so they are just trying to be at no. 1 place by launching new GPUs one by one and GT 1010 is one of them.

The news was first reported by a YouTuber on its YouTube channel Dapz through a video in which he shows the existence of GT 1010 on the driver download page. Also, the Nvidia rep confirmed the news and said that the card exists but not yet released by Nvidia.

Nvidia GeForce GT 1010

The new Nvidia GeForce GT 1010 model is basically build to replace the previous GT 710 GPU which was based on the Kepler GK208 core launched in the year 2016. Whereas the new model is based on the Pascal GP108 GPU debuted in the GT 1030. The chip is originally manufactured in 14 nm process by Samsung.

Meanwhile, the GT 1010 is a low-end version of the GT 1030, with a lowering in the number of stream processors that fall off from 384 cores to 256 cores. Moreover, the 16 texture mapping and 16 ROPs units available in GT 1030 are also lowered in the new GPU.

The new GPU by Nvidia will be only available in one version to the users i.e. of 2 gigabytes of GDDR5 memory (VRAM) with a 64-bit interface and 41.1 GB/s bandwidth. NVIDIA GeForce GT 1010 measures 147mm long and features a cooling solution that occupies a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot. The GPU doesn’t require any additional PSU instead of that it will work on the maximum power consumption of 30 W for which a 200 watts power supply is more than enough.

The new Nvidia GeForce GT 1010 isn’t made for gamers instead of that it is more suitable to be used in home theaters or users who love to watch movies instead of games as the GPU isn’t capable of loading modern graphics of the latest games like CyberPunk 2077. The most important part is to see whether the GPU will be available to buy in retail or only system integrators will use it. As per the leaks and features, we can conclude that the GPU will be available at an economical cost.
