Today we are going to talk about Google Co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin meet which leads them to create history by creating Google’s most successful search engine cum website till the date.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin meet for the first time at Stanford University while studying for Ph.D.’s in computer science and together launched the world’s first and most popular search engine Google in 1998.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin are the CEO and president of Google’s parent company, Alphabet they created history by making the world’s most famous and usable search engine Google. Together, they invented Google’s PageRank algorithm, and in 2015 they created Alphabet, which includes Google, Nest, Calisco, and other entities.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin Meet

Larry Page and Sergey Brin are the two brilliant minds that would never be found in the future they created history and their names are still being remembered for creating or founding Google.

When Larry Page and Sergey Brin Meet the first time in the summer of 1995, Sergey Brin was a second-year grad student in the computer science department at Stanford University. In 1998 Both filed a company for incorporation, the first step in turning a Stanford dorm room project into what’s become Alphabet, one of the world’s most valuable companies.

Both Google co-founder Larry Page and Sergey Brin became two of the Richest Person in the world due to the revolution in Google search engine which they never anticipated that it would become a multi-billion-dollar company in the coming time.

In a letter, Page wrote to the investors about ahead of its initial public offering in 2004 “that when he met with Brin and discusses the plan of launching Google they never know that it would reach its current size and influence”. Also, he said that “His main motive is not to make money instead they wanted to objectively help people find information efficiently on the Internet.”

In 1995, when Page visited Stanford first time for a tour of its campus. He was a prospective student for its doctoral program in computer science when he met Brin, a volunteer guide for first-year students. As Google notes, “By some accounts, they disagreed about nearly everything during that first meeting, but by the following year they end up with a partnership with each other.”

Larry Page and Surgey Brin meet for first time in 1995 summers, As Brin had already finished his first year at Stanford when Page enrolled, and the two stayed in touch. Now, they become friends which is a test of both patience, “Sergey is pretty social he likes meeting people,” Page told Wired in 2005. “I thought he was pretty obnoxious. He had really strong opinions about things, and I guess I did, too.”

Google Started as a P.hD project not as a Search Engine

In an Interview with Academy of Achievement Page said that “they didn’t start out to do a search engine at all. In late 1995, I started collecting the links on the Web, because my advisor and I decided that would be a good thing to do. We didn’t know exactly what I was going to do with it, but it seemed like no one was really looking at the links on the Web which pages link to which pages.”

Brin and Page combined their knowledge of math and computer science to build an algorithm that took into account the number of links and the importance of those links. The resulting algorithm PageRank, named after Page, would be more efficient than the tools available at the time, such as AltaVista and Excite.

    Begging for Cash from Professors

At the Time when Page and Brin came up with the idea of making an improved search engine, they didn’t have the money to access all the computers, disc drives, and computer memory they needed. Professor Hector Garcia-Molina, Page’s adviser at the time, said he was “their main bank.”

The professor helped secure $10,000 from the school’s Digital Library budget to help Brin and Page get the parts to build the data servers. Other professors also lent money to them as well, with investments as small $40, as the two students picked up spare parts from wherever they could.

Once they secured the funds and built their own data servers, they debuted the search engine as google.stanford.edu.

First Headquarters of Google in a Garage

Page and Brin used some of their investor’s money to open up Google’s first headquarters: a garage-turned-office space in Menlo Park, California. Space was part of a house owned by Susan Wojcicki, who later became a Google senior VP and is now the CEO of YouTube. Brin would go on to marry Wojcicki’s sister Anne, who found 23andMe.

The company notes that the old headquarters had clunky desktop computers, a ping pong table, and a bright blue carpet that “set the scene for those early days and late nights.” Google’s first server was encased in Lego blocks.
